Rolling Hills Explorers 4-H Club

Registration will be open on September 1, 2025.

Here are the possible projects covering science topics and computers & technology up for consideration for the upcoming 4-H year:

Field Crops

Develop your skills in identifying plants and seeds of commonly grown plants in Saskatchewan. The three levels are conveniently packed in one multi-year manual to take you from beginner to marketing your crops.

Range Management

Learn the importance of healthy rangelands, ecosystems, managing grasslands, plant identification and wildlife and livestock grazing patterns. A perfect supplement to any livestock project!

Astronomy

The stars really are the limit in this project. Learn about star gazing, solar systems and constellations, all while having fun under the night sky!

Digital Video

Members of all ages can create great movies and explore the world of filmmaking. This project is divided into three steps of making a film: pre-production, production, and post-production.

If you’re interested in one or more of your children joining any of these projects email Steph at hello@swshomeschoolers.ca with your interest and any preferences of projects. There are many more projects offered and 4-H also has a 4-U Self Determined Project where any project related to the 4-H focus can be custom-made. Learn more about 4-H and see the Project Selection Guide on the 4-H Saskatchewan website.

The 4-H motto “Learn To Do By Doing” fits well into the educational preference of many homeschool families. As a new club in 2025, Rolling Hills Explorers 4-H Club started with the Woodworking project. We are looking forward to the many other project possibilities!

For the 2025/2026 year we will likely meet in Swift Current every other Wednesday from 1 – 2:30 (or 3:00) pm as we did for this past year.

We can have more than one project going at a time, so other times are possible if that doesn’t fit with your schedule right now. Please contact Steph Morrison at hello@swshomeschoolers.ca with any questions or interest in other 4-H projects.

The 4-H year runs from September 1 – August 31st, so be aware that the registration fee applies to that time period. If you’re interested in being part of this 4-H club you can register on the 4-H Saskatchewan website:

Notes About Registering

When going through the registration process you’ll come to a page where there is an option to ‘register’ your member with a paid option and below that is where you select the project with no cost associated.

  1. There is a yearly membership fee to register in a club, which is understandable considering the high level of support provided by the 4-H organization for clubs, but if the cost is a challenge, email Steph at hello@swshomeschoolers.ca to have all or some of the cost subsidized.
  2. Choose one of the project options and any others you are interested in. After we have our club rolling we will see what families, leaders, and volunteers we have to get more projects going at one time.
