Learning Materials Canadian Homeschoolers Use

There is definitely no lack of good quality and budget-friendly options for homeschool curriculum. It’s easier than ever to guide your child’s education with learning materials you choose and trust. The list below is a small number of curriculum available to homeschoolers, but instead of just a list of curriculum, you’ll find a personal note from a homeschooler about why they have found it useful for their child’s educational experience.

History Plus

I've been using History Plus for 2-3 years for my teens. It's mostly video-based, but there are single page worksheets that we print off and the boys complete them after watching an episode/lesson, then we review them in a month or two and see how much we can remember!

The video on the platform is about 5 minutes and then there are usually 2 links to other videos or online resources related to the topic. I usually watch as well just because I like to learn too, but it could be done independently. Added bonus — History Plus is a family run business (husbands, wives, and a couple sisters too), the two brothers were homeschooled, and they are in Springbrook, AB, so pretty local!
